AKRON BEACON JOURNAL Monday, Sept. 12, 1955 Aluminum And Steel Lists High NEW YORK (A) The stock market was mostly higher today in early dealings. Many leading stocks were unchanged to lower, but the balance as whole was higher. Prices ranged from around 2 points higher to a point lower. Aluminum issues were higher along with most steels, chemicals, and good list of indi.

vidual issues. Motors, aircrafts. and oils were largely unchanged to higher. UNION BAG PAPER opened on a block of 1,400 shares, up 4 points at 100 and one of 1 the best gainers in the list. Among higher stocks were Chrysler, Boeing, Philco, American Smelting, Allied Chemical, New York Central and Loew's.

Lower were United Aircraft, Phelps Dodge, Westinghouse Electric, Rohm Haas, Eastern Airlines, Santa Fe Railroad and Consolidated Edison. Model Plane Meeting Attracts 81 In spite of occasional light rain, the first model plane meet of the season went off in fine shape at Hawk Field Sunday. There were 81 young fliers from 10 years up, Mrs. C. A.

Hulsemann of the Akron Women's Chapter, National Aeronautic Association, reported. Mrs. Hulsemann was registrar during the afternoon of flying all types of model craft. The meet was sponsored by the Air, Force Association, which took over the handling of model plane activities. The new organization is called "The Council of Model Builders." Members of the old time clubs- the "Rubber City Aeronauts" and the "Society of Model Engineers" were on hand with a lot of newcomers from all over the area.

They also watched exhibitions by an expest team of older modelers. Future meets will be discussed during weekly meetings it was announced. Severns June 21. They were married in Akron. Mr. Severns was an active member of South Akron Church of Christ 52 years. He held every office in the church and at the time of his death was an honorary elder, He particularly enjoyed working with the young people of the congregation.

Mrs. Severns is member of the church. Her husband also leaves a son, Russell and a brother, Howard, both of Akron. 17 A daughter, Thelma, died years ago. Services will be at 2 p.

m. Thursday in the South Akron Church of Christ, the Rev. W. G. Dieringer officiating.

RUBY STEFANOV Services for Mrs. Ruby Stefanov, 82, of Birmingham, formerly of Akron, will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Manley. Bailey Funeral Home in Birmingham.

Burial will be in Birmingham. For further information call the Kucko Funeral Home. Mrs. Stefanov, who died Saturday in Birmingham, was born in Yugoslavia. She moved to Canada in 1909 and to Akron in 1922 from Hamilton, Ont.

In 1947 she and her husband, Dusan, who survives her, moved to Birmingham to make their home with a daughter, Mrs. Eve Richy. Mrs. Stefanov leaves another daughter, Mrs. Anna Boskov of Birmingham; three sons, Donald, Steve and Joe, all ployed by B.

F. Goodrich Co. in Akron; 14- grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. ANDREW FITZGERALD Mrs. Anna Heinick, an Akron resident until four years ago, died Sunday at her home in Miami, Fla.

She was 70. Mrs. Heinick lived at 1812 S. W. Sixth st.

Robinson leaves two BFG-Gulf Chemical Output Up Substantial increases in production have been registered in the first three months of operations at the Port Neches, plants of the Goodrich-Gulf Chemicals, Inc. This was revealed as directors assembled for an inspection trip through the butadiene and synthetic rubber facilities recently purchased from the government. Goodrich-Gulf President W. I. Burt told the board that production in the butadiene plant had Increased 88 per cent over the similar period in 1954 and synthetic rubber output was up 87 per cent over the same span.

THE BUTADIENE plant is operated jointly with TexasU. S. Chemical while the synthetic rubber plant is exclusively Goodrich-Gulf. "Both plants are being op erated at maximum capacity," said Burt, "and even now we are studying engineering surveys that may lead to major program in the foresecable future." and had lived in Cuyahoga Falls 10 years, coming here from Akron. He was a member of the Firestone 20- Year Club. Survivors include three sons, Clarence and Leonard of bula and Wyatt of Boston, two daughters, Mrs. Betty Straw Barbara Miller, both of Akron; 32 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Andy and Clark Holcomb, both of Richwood. Warner, 85, of Station Brady Lake, for many years one of the "champion" foster parents in the Akron district, died Sunday in Robinson Memorial Hospital, Ravenna. Mr. Warner and his first wife, who died in 1947, boarded 22 youngsters from the Summit County Children's Home over six year period. His sons, Ralph D. of Clinton and E.

Glenn of Hartville, and a daughter, Mrs. Dayid Schloneger of Louisville, O. also have "reared" foster children. A native of Indiana County, Mr. Warner had lived in this area since 1912.

He was retired from the Kent Water Works. Mr. Warner was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Canton. BESIDES his sons and two other sons, J. Carl of ter, he leaves his wife, Bertha Akron, J.

Clair of Mansfield, and E. Glenn and another daughter, Mrs. Delbert E. Morris of Stow. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Bissler Funeral Home where friends may call after 4 p. m. today.

Patrolmen did not have her name. Mr. Morrow was the father of E. L. Morrow of Bedford, an auxiliary patrolman at the Akron Highway Patrol Post.

B. Buck, who lives there, said the house "looks like someone ran through it shooting gun." A fireman himself, Buck said the loss probably will run to $5,000. Fire report records estimated damage at $2,000. Buck said the blast hit the roof early Sunday while the family was sleeping. It raced through wiring, plumbing and a main beam and leaped outside to ruin a 35-foot television antenna.

En route, it knocked out plaster in room after room. In a bedroom, the lightning set fire to curtains and a dresser. Buck's daughter, Carol, 18, fought the blaze with her hands. She was unhurt.
