Vernon and Fred-ricktown schools, and a part-time instructor at Wayne College. She enjoyed sports, reading, music, and horses. She preceded in death by her father, Robert and her brother Robert D. She was the eloved wife of James loving mother of Amanda Leigh and Dana Elizabeth; daughter of Norma Detwiler; sister of Betty Star-key, Tom and Doug Detwiler. Mr. Wise was born in Barberton and was a lifelong area resident. He retired with 46 years service at the B.F. Goodrich where he was a foreman. Mr.

Wise was a member of Fairlawn West United Church of Christ. Preceded in death by his wife, Nora in 1985. Family suggests memorials to the Greater Akron Humane Society. (Dunn-Quigley, Ciriello Carr, Fairlawn Chapel, 867-7306.) Judy C. Zavoda Judy C. Zavoda (nee Everhart), 50, of Macedonia, passed away at her residence Thursday, March 12, 1998. Mrs.

Zavoda was bom in Thomas ville, N. in 1947. Judy moved to Canton in 1960; in 1977 she moved to Macedonia. She received her bachelor's degree from Akron University, and attained her master's of education from Cleveland State University in 1991. Mrs.

Zavoda worked for Nationwide Insurance, and for Citizen Savings Bank in Canton. She had taught first grade in the North Royalton Schools since 1985. Her greatest love was working with and helping her first-graders. Mrs. Zavoda was a member of the North Royalton Education Association, and she enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; her son, G. Michael Zavoda (wife, Jennifer) of Carlisle, her daughter, Terri Zavoda of Macedonia (fiance, Ken Sefcik); and her sisters, Joanne Burrow (husband, Jones), Lucy Welch (husband, Ralph), and Carolyn Kiger, all of North Carolina. Heintz passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, from injuries incurred in an automobile collision in Bella Vista, on Jan. 22, 1998. Calvin was a lay minister at Mill-heim Church in the Akron area during the late '50s and early '60s. He was the official historian for the City of Cuyahoga Falls during the Ohio Ses-quicentennial in 1953.

He was a lifelong member of the Optimists Club, and an avid golfer. In Bella Vista, he was active in the Bella Vista Community Church and Men's Choir. He helped establish and operate a United Parcel Center in Bella Vista, and was active in A.A.R.P. in a variety of roles. He is survived by his wife, Dora, and her family; also by his son, David, from a previous marriage; and his grandson, Nathan, of Walnut Creek, by brothers, Richard and Douglas; and by many nieces and nephews.

According to his wishes, he was cremated in Bella Vista, and his ashes are to be dispersed. A memorial' service will be held at the Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Bella Vista, Saturday, March 14, at. 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial! fund at the church.

She had been active in the Community Church of Stow, and sang in their choir. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Victor Shaffer, and is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Glendene of Clinton; sister, Alice Mae Walton of Warren, sister-in-law, Mary Shaffer of Fresno, 14 nieces and nephews. Stark Joseph Frank (Sustarsic) Stark, 76, passed away March 4 in Escondido, after a long struggle with Myelodysplasia Syndrome, a form of aplastic anemia. Joe was bom Jan. 26, 1922, in Barberton, the son of Joseph and Mary Sustarsic, longtime members of the Slovenian Domovina Lodge in Barberton.

He graduated from Barberton High School and attended the University of Wisconsin. Joe served in the Army as an interpreter during World War II, and was discharged in 1946. Joe retired in 1984 after 42 years of service with Goodyear Tire Rubber rising from mailroom clerk to a valued position in the corporate planning office. He and his wife of 51 years, Carolyn, were longtime residents of Green Township, where he was active in Uons Club before moving to Valparaiso, in 1995. In the 10 years after retirement, Joe and Carolyn traveled all over the world with Elderhostel and other travel programs.

Joe is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children, Martha of Houston, Jexas, Teddi of Escondido, and Russell of Valparaiso, Ind. Joe had six grandchildren. Marian Stein (Marnie) Marian Stein (Marnie), 83, has made her long journey home, March 11, 1998. Mrs. Stein was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and leaves her memories to her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Joe; her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Donald; her sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Karen, R.

G. and Mary Lou, and Brad; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Esther, Dorothy; and all her many friends from the Alpha J's; Eastern Star Beauceant and her neighborhood. 1, 1902, in Pike County, Ohio, moved at an early age to Fayette County, and finally settled in Akron in February 1922. He was married to Margaret Moats, whose death occurred just last October. His early employment years were connected with the Central Hardware and E. W. Co.

During World War II, he joined Firestone Tire Rubber retiring in 1967 after 25 years of very dedicated service. Following his move to Bath in 1946, he involved himself in community activities and positions. Among these were: Revere Booster Club (president); Bath-Richfield Kiwanis Club (charter member), Revere School Board (one term and president one year), and a member of the Bath United School Church of Christ. He was also active in Community Chest and United Fund. He was father to Dr.

William (Barbara); and grandfather of Eric (Eileen), Andrew (Nancy), and Melissa (Dino) LoPresti; great-grandfather of seven. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hummel Funeral West, 3475 Copley Copley. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bath United Church of Christ, with Rev.

Bom in Alphoretta, she was a lifetime area resident, having lived many years in Silver Lake. Preceded in death by husband, Bruce, in 1980, she is survived by daughter, Patricia Moon of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; sons, Larry of Hilton Head, S. Alan of Bolivar, Ohio; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Ringler of Tall-madge; brother, William Shanahan of Youngstown. (Redmon; Stow, courageous battle with cancer. He retired in 1987 from the U. S. Postal Service, where he had 39 years of service. Mr.

Smallridge loved to travel and was an architectural and her husband, Bert Hinkle Sr. (1973). She is survived by her sons, Bert Hinkle Jr. of Wadsworth, Stephen C. Hinkle of Pullman, and Roger W.

(Judy) Hinkle of Copley; grandchildren, Wayne, Greg, and Ben. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 16, 1998, at the ADAMS MASON MEMORIAL CHAPEL (791 E. Market where friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and one hour prior to service.
