Jane was dearly loved for 51 years by husband, Raymond F. Slawter; was the mother of Cheryl Ruth Slawter; daughter-in-law of Harriet Slawter of Akron; sister of Bill (Ruth) Dellenberger of Akron, Vandalia VanOsdall of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law of Jane Dellenberger of Booton, N. J. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Dellenberger. She also was an aunt to many nieces and nephews, and had numerous cousins.

After attending Greenbrier in West Virginia, she served her country in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. She was a member of Billow Chapter O.E.S., Girl Scouts of America, and was active in Akron Woman's City Club Plavmakers. Memorials may be made to the Cleveland Zoological Society.

25, 1915, to the late Edward and Lillian (Killings) Scrutchings. He grew up in Akron, attending the public schools and graduated from East High School, where he participated in sports. He had a brief experience at the University of Akron. As a young adult, his love of baseball led him to coaching. His dedication developed winning teams.

His favorite conversation in his early years centered around baseball and his 17 close friends from Central and East High School. He also had experience at C.C.C. Camp. Fred was a member of the infantry, serving in World War II at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz.

He was a member of the Cornerstone Lodge 91 P.H.A., United Negro Improvement Association (U.N.I.A.), the Washington Park Forum, and the Greater Bethesda Baptist Church. Due to failing health, he spent his latter time attending service with his family, Renee and Rebecca, at the Greater Omega Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by six siblings: brothers, Roy, Sherman, Alfred (Buddy), Edward, and Chris; and sister, Hazel.
