Ron was born in Delevan, N.Y., and moved to Ohio in 1961. He retired in 1991 from the Akron Public Schools after 31 years service. He taught mathematics at Thornton Junior High, Roswell Kent Junior High, Ellet High School, and was Coordinator of Mathematics K-12 during the last two years of his tenure with the Akron Schools. Ron taught part time from 1980 to 1985 at the University of Akron. After retiring from the Akron Schools, he taught at Hoban High School and later became the business manager at the school.

Ron was honorably discharged from the Army in 1960 after serving two years, one of those years in Iceland. Ron graduated from Ashland College and earned his master's degree from Kent State University. He dedicated his life to the improvement of mathematics education at all grade levels. He was an active member of the National Council of Teachers Mathematics and the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and was the founding president of the Greater Akron Mathematics Educators' Society. He presented many mathematics workshops throughout Ohio, helping teachers understand the need for change in the mathematics curriculum.

Ron was a Jennings Scholar recipient in 1969. Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Frances; and by his father, Robert of Delevan, N.Y. He leaves his loving wife and best friend, Frances of Akron; sisters, Donna Lee (Rich) Helms of Delevan, N.Y., Nancy (Don) Campbell of Chester, N.J.; brother, Jack (Becky) of Coconut Creek, stepdaughters, Maria (Rick) Shaddeau of Oakland, and Ann Dicintio of Akron; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was born in Cameron, on May 16, 1921, and moved to Akron with her parents, Wayland Lee and Rosa Mayes. Wanda graduated from School in 1939, and married Glenn McClellan in 1940. They moved to Bath in 1945. Wanda retired from Prudential Insurance (Fairlawn office) in 1979, and enjoyed her retirement utilizing her many talents, including painting, sewing, gardening, playing the organ, and nurturing, in the kindest After way, the her death family of her and Glenn, Wanda married Lloyd (Rab) Hughes in 1989. They moved from their Ira Road home to Akron in 1997 after residing in Bath for over 50 years.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn McClellan; and son, William, and is survived by her husband, Lloyd Hughes; sons, James (Gloria) and Richard; daughter, Sharon (Prentice) Franckowiak; grandchildren, Julea, Michelle, Lori, Heather, Kristin, and William; great-grandchildren, Ricky, Tommy, and Hana; and five stepchildren. 21, 1999, in Ft. Collins, where, due to illness, he lived the past year. He had worked for Ohio Bell Telephone Co. and Fred Arbogast Co. In the 1940s, Brooke and Enna started their own company, Brooks Baits.

They retired in 1961 to the Florida Keys. He was preceded in death by his wife, Enna (Robb); daughter, Jean Roulier; parents; and brothers, Charles and Lee. He is survived by his daughter and Betty and George Jansen of Ft. Collins, son-in-law, Donald Roulier of Goodland, six grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pamela J. Powers Pamela J. Powers, 34, of Akron, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999. She was born May 9, 1964, and raised in Broomall, Pa.

In 1985 she graduated from Harcum Junior College and moved with her family to Canton. Pamela was currently employed as a job coach at NOVA, and had attended St. Paul's Catholic Church of North Canton.
